Chapter 37: Beam 208
Table of Contents
Previous chapter: Brown 376

As they gradually regrouped in the hall outside the office, Beam handed the new ray gun to Dawn. "What do you make of this?" he asked. She took it and examined it for about a minute before replying.
"Sir, a neural disruptor, minimal damage, causes significant pain and usually loss of consciousness."
He nodded. "Keep it handy; we might want to use it, or at least threaten to use it."
Bob emerged from the office, and Beam continued.
"I think this will become our office, at least temporarily. First we have to retrace our steps and get a few things done. People need to know that we're in charge now."
"In charge?" Sophie and Ashleigh questioned almost in unison.
"Yes, my dears. It seems that I am about to be recognized once again as emperor in another world."
