“Richard Lloyd Williams. We need to talk.”
The man identified by his records as a thirty-seven year old career diplomatic security agent looked at Derek. “And you are?”
“The chap who knows where Sammie goes when she manages to escape your supervision.”
He nodded. “Not here. How do I find you?”
“Give me the time and place, and I’ll be there.”
“Do you have a name?”
Derek hesitated. Of course he had a name--in fact, he had several. He should say he was Kyler Bryant. Why was Williams asking? Of course, meeting a stranger, even one who looks like a kid, was never entirely safe; he could be protecting himself. On the other hand, Williams’ demeanor was wrong.
“I’m Kyler Bryant. I’m not blackmailing you. I’m trying to solve a serious problem with the least disruption I can.”
“Three o’clock. Orygyns on Jules Michelet.”
Derek nodded. He knew the place, just down the road from the embassy, but had not been there. In fact, he rarely left the embassy. He nodded. “Three o’clock,” he repeated. “I’ll be there.”
